Understanding Your Brain's Essential Needs

Muscle Head. Your brain is like a muscle. Without proper exercise and use it can atrophy, or at least not perform well when you need it to. In fact, as you age you may not need your body’s muscles to be as strong as they were when you were younger but you will probably need your brain to stay sharp as the pace and complexity of modern life increases the demand on your brain for quick thinking, a strong memory, a clear mind and the energy to stay focused when you need to.

A working muscle also needs proper nutrition. Both your body’s muscles and your brain need glucose and oxygen to stay fit and healthy.
